Update: 9:14 AM – September 19, 2022

Good Morning from London! At the start of the day at first light officers are spaced 5 feet apart on the entire route of the procession. In the last two images is where the Union Jack flag was caught on a pole and the guys insured all the flags were hanging properly. Watch the video then the crowd of thousands just in this space here breaks out in applause. In 4 hours the procession will begin from Westminster making its way thru the City of London, down the Mall to Buckingham Palace, and then to Wellington Arch where the Queen’s casket will be transferred from the carriage to a vehicle that will make its way to Windsor Castle, her final resting place with Prince Phillip and her Parents.

Update: 9:15 AM – September 19, 2022

Bagpipes have started playing, the crowd is only talking so low that it’s an eerie quietness at times. British Police are spaced every 5 feet in front of us. Union Jack flags are everywhere. We have already seen King Charles and Camilla, Prince William, and Kate, and Harry, and Meghan travel by several times. All have now along with dignitaries Presidents, and Prime Ministers gone to Westminster. Over 2 million have converged onto the streets of London and the State Funeral which will begin in the next few minutes will be broadcast over speakers throughout London, and on Jumbotrons in Hyde Park. The outpouring of love, flowers, notes, and stuffed Paddington bears, corgis, and the occasional marmalade sandwiches are all over, flowers in the millions of bouquets have been brought to Buckingham Palace. We have been in now for almost 24 hours…. Today, the world watches and today the one constant for 70 years, the world now mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

Update: 6:26 AM – September 19, 2022

Good Morning from London, it’s 6:26 AM! We froze last night but as you can see a few thousand friends have joined us! We have around 5-6 more hours to go! But 17 hours are down…..

Update: 6:22 PM – September 18, 2022

13.5 hours to go! But when you secure a front row spot less than 300 yards from Buckingham Palace…. This is Living life in London.

Update: 4:06 PM – September 18, 2022

We are 8 hours in and 17 hours to go. We are out here on The Mall about 300 yards from the front of Buckingham Palace. I was interviewed earlier by Belgium TV. King Charles went by earlier and we are outside with thousands of others waiting for the procession following the state funeral. Police officers are about every 10 feet, and security is unreal, but London has done a phenomenal job with over 1 million expected to converge to the streets for the final procession.

Here are a few images from todays abrupt change of plans to literally take a spot on the mall, looking at Buckingham Palace to put front and center to the Procession tomorrow. I literally have run from our spot 2.8 miles away to the hotel to sort things, grab gear, snacks, and a stocking hat and sweatshirt to work my way back thru so many layers of security to get back to where we are, and will be for the next 17 hours.

Update: 11:38 AM – September 18, 2022

Well guys, here we go. We have staked our spot for the next 26 hours. We are alternating to get our bags packed and get blankets and food. Then be here in this spot for literally the next 26 hours. Right now I am waiting to see if King Charles comes back as well as other dignitaries and members of the monarchy. It’s going to be quite the experience and the perfect spot!
